The Home of the Surrealists

Visit the home and garden of Lee Miller and Roland Penrose In the Centenary Year of Lee Miller you are invited to step back into the time when she and Roland Penrose occupied Farley Farm House. A series of pecial guided tours are presented for the Chiddingly Festival, and Lee’s study which is recently restored is opened for the first time, in which visitors will be able to view items from her early life in America. Farley Farm House was the meeting place for many key figures from the world of modern art such as Picasso, Miró, Ernst and Man Ray, and the house contains work by them and their contemporaries.

Farley’s Yard Barn gallery will host the International Mini Print Exhibition from Barcelona of 600 original artists’ prints from around the world in a fantastic range of subject matter with every known technique. A perfect opportunity to start your own collection. In association with Farley’s Yard Trust and the Chiddingly Festival, Farley Farm House will be running a Collage & Frottage workshop for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years, on the 2nd of October, from 4-6pm, as a unique chance to create collages and frottages alongside and whilst looking at real examples by both Roland Penrose and Max Ernst. The workshops will be lead by Ami Bouhassane, granddaughter of Roland Penrose and Lee Miller.

Places are £6.50 each and must be booked and paid for in advance as there is limited availability.

For further information and children’s workshop tickets contact Kerry on 01825 872 691.

We look forward to greeting you.
