These pictures illustrate the 2001 festival. The Betty Davila Band got the festival underway with a great set at the 6 Bells as part of the Folk & Blues Club's Festival evening. Bell ringing. Bell Captain Tim Waterman and his team rang a full peal of changes on the eight bells of Chiddingly Church. Morag McLaren stages a unique entertainment featuring colanders. The African dancers Brekete in traditional costume performed dances from Ghana, Sierre Leone, Mali, Senegal and South Africa The village enjoyed a play by Miles Jenner adapted from the recollections of Edward Boys Ellman. The retiring hero who became Rector of Berwick in 1846. enCompass is extended the "making" elements in what was previously the Arts & Crafts Show. Workshops, for all ages included Kite Making, Mask Making, Raku Pottery and Morris Dancing. Mike Hatchard performed the complete history of music and fruit. Mike, a virtuoso pianist and raconteur and was in educational mode. He summarised all of the information that he needed to acquire a master's degree at the Royal College of Music in about 30 minutes. From Attila the Stockbroker we had performance poetry, page poetry, verse, rants, songs, instrumentals, stories; love, anger, politics, satire; medieval chamber punk, but no hot share tips. John Renbourne & Clive Carroll staged an excellent guitar concert in the village hall. This years Village Play was the "Fatal Flaw" a Tudor romp featuring everything from lovesick swains and wicked barons to the Spanish Armada. The children were entertained by the The Toy Theatre. A toy theatre is neglected by it's owner. The paper actor, Jack, decides that something must done to make the toy theatre popular again and set out on an adventure in Victorian London. This years classical concert featured The Cantible Singers, a Chamber Choir, including past and present members of The Royal Choral Society, performing a variety of works including Fauvre's "Cantique de Jean Racine" and Vivaldi's "Gloria"
