A behind-the-scenes look at the preparation of the current Lee Miller Centenary exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum.

Mark Haworth-Booth, formerly the Curator of Photography at the V&A and now Curator of the exhibition The Art of Lee Miller and author of the new book of the same title, takes part in an illustrated conversation with Antony Penrose, Director of the Lee Miller archive.

During the four year preparation for the exhibition, Mark Haworth-Booth and Antony Penrose crisscrossed the USA and Europe looking for previously un-exhibited photographs by Lee Miller. This is the amusingly told tale of that journey, with its amazing discoveries and crazy escapes from hurricanes, bush fires and blizzards, that led through the back stage of the V&A to The Art of Lee Miller, a magnificent exhibition and book that gives a new appraisal of Lee Miller’s life and work.

Tours of Farley Farm House, including the recently re-opened study used by Lee Miller, are being organised in association with the Chiddingly Festival - for details click here.
