The Wakeford Ensemble brings Lucy Wakeford, harpist, together with Siobhan Grealy flautist. The Duo have appeared together on many occasions and have won much musical acclaim.

Lucy Wakeford was appointed Principal of the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2002 and is one of the most outstanding harpists of her generation.  She studied with Marisa Robles at  the Royal College of Music, and with Gerard Devos in Paris and Skaila Kanga in London.  Lucy has appeared as guest artists with James Galway, is principal harp of the Britten Sinfonia and harpist for the Nash Ensemble.

Siobhan Grealy began her studies at the Royal College of Music where she won Maisie Lewis Young Concert Artist Award which enabled her to give her London debut at the Purcell Room.  She furthered her studies at the Royal Academy of Music with William Bennett.  She has played with the London Philharmonic, London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Philharmonia.

For the concert this evening the Duo will be playing works by Bach, Rossini,  Spohr, Fauré, Saint-Saëns and Alwyn

The concert will be preceded by a Quarter Peal on the Chiddingly Church Bells
