Sunday 2nd October 5:00 pm at Chiddingly Church
The ringing of the church bells has always been significant in the life of a village or town. They herald a call to Church, or announce happy or sad events that occur in and around the village. We as a Festival have been very fortunate in that for 31 of our 32 years the bells have been rung for us, and on the only occasion that they were missing, new bells were being installed. On Thursday 22nd September they will once more ring to celebrate the commencement of the Chiddingly Festival with a full Peal. On the last Sunday of the Festival, 2nd October, a quarter peal is rung to mark Evensong and the end of yet another festival year.
Many thanks go to the Captain of the Ringers, Mr. Tim Waterman, and to his team, for their efforts on this happy occasion. Thank you Tim!.
