Storyteller - June Peters
Monday 28th September 7:30 for 8:00pm, The Six Bells Pub
You never quite know what to expect when June spins her traditional tales They may be a reflection of current events, an improvisation on audience energy or just the delivery of a set of stunning stories about fairies, folklore, love, hate, loyalty, betrayal, birth, death and the Gods.
Whatever the stories, you will be transported to a timeless world, a wonderful place to be.
A performer in the tradition, not of literature, but of the ancient oral storytelling art, June draws on sources that range from Mesopotamian clay tablets to Welsh books of the Mabinogion, from the Arabian Nights to the Arthurian legends, from Greek myth to the folklore of Ireland and Scandinavia. She tells wonder tales from all over the world and participation tales from countless cultures.
June has many years of storytelling experience with both adults and children. She held the chair of the Society for Storytelling for two years and has recently returned from a storytelling tour of South America.
