About The Event
There will be intervals throughout the show, with ample opportunutiy to top up your glasses from our well stocked bar plus a DJ in the beer tent during, and after the show to extend your evening. There’s also more to be announced so keep an eye on our socials and website for updates. Here’s some of the acts lined up so far...
Your headline act is Jen Brister, one of the most in demand acts in Britain today, Jen tops bills across the continents as well as racking up fans on social media, where her sharp witted observations on modern life have gained her over a million followers
When not on stage, Jen is a regular on TV, appearing on the likes of ‘Live At The Apollo’ and ‘Frankie Boyle’s Modern Life’ and appears on Radio on the likes of the ‘News Quiz’ as well as presenting on Six Music.
Descried as ‘Furiously Funny’ by the Guaridan, we’re delighted that Jen’s taking time out from a major UK wide tour to take to our stage for a performance that’s not to be missed.
Your host for the evening is Alexandra Haddow, a resident MC at iconic London club Angel Comedy and compere at monthly South London stand up institution ‘Hamlet Comedy’.
When not wrangling other comics, Alexandra performs as a stand-up in her own right, and has undertaken two nationwide tours off the back of sell-out Edinburgh Fringe runs
As a performer she’s been described as ‘expertly walking the fine line between cheeky and outright smut’ and is in demand on the UK Festival Circuit, gracing the big tops of Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds and Lattitude.
Alexandra has also provided tour support for the comedy icons like Frankie Boyle and Tommy Tiernan, and has performed on Comedy Central. She is also an in demand writer, working on ‘Have I Got News For You’ and ‘The News Quiz’.
A stand up legend, Ian Stone has been a mainstay of the circuit since the early 90s and 35 years into a stellar career, still travels the world performing his beautifully crafted comedy.
On TV Ian’s appeared on ‘Mock The Week’ and ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’, as well as hosting shows for BT Sport and is a regular panellist on cult Five Live radio favourite ‘Fighting Talk’.
Edgy and provocative but with an easy going manner, Ian’s a firm favourite of stand up fans across the country, and ahead of taking his next tour on the road around Britain, is very excited to hit Chiddingly for one night only.
After a career as a noughties pop act and a stint as lead singer of a punk band, Josh Weller pivoted to comedy and has become one of the most in demand acts on the circuit and an online viral sensation.
His Edinburgh show about his professional past ‘Age Against The Machine’ was a smash hit, while his musical parodies delight both live audiences across the country and millions of social media users. This led to Josh writing for The Brit Awards and he’s also performed on two series of ITV’s ‘The Stand Up Show’.
You might also recognise Josh as a actor, recent roles have included Netflix’s Fantast Drama ‘The Witcher’ (he was killed off) and ‘A Gentleman In Moscow’ (he was killed off).
Happily his comedy career is very much alive, and he’s looking forward to joining our night.
Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year 2024 Finalist and winner of the West End (Old) New Act of the Year 2023, John Pape brings his unique brand of alternative, character-driven comedy. Described by Chortle as “a hard act to follow”, John delivers deranged anecdotes, outrageous self-aggrandizement, and hilariously misguided attempts to dominate the audience – all while rocking high-waisted trousers and occult costume jewellery. Small ears, thin wrists, a beard and boundless imagination make John a complex comic force, who employs fantasy and delusion to make sense of the absurdities of human society, the state of the nation and his fellow gays.
