The Annual Chiddingly Festival

Chiddingly Festival is a remarkable phenomenon. Now entering its 34th year, it is a feast of the arts, run entirely by volunteers, yet attracting big name and quirky acts in a wide range of genres. Music, dance, beer, sculpture, comedy, graphic arts, theatre, story-telling and poetry for all ages all feature regularly.

The Six Bells at Chiddingly The tiny rural village of Chiddingly is in East Sussex, between Lewes and Hailsham, North of Eastbourne. Like many small rural villages, life revolves around the Church, the Village Hall and the pub - and our new village shop!. Map

This is a quite amazing festival for such a small village, the festival is an event that makes Chiddingly unique. As always, the festival starts with a full peal of bells from the tower of Chiddingly Village Church.

Hardeep Singh Kohli - Comedy

'Everyone loves a curry - after all, it is Britain's national dish! Broadcaster, writer and Celebrity Masterchef finalist Hardeep Singh Kohli is on a mission to find the best Indian takeaway in the UK.

‘A capacity crowd in the palm of his hand for almost two hours. His concoction on the night? Haggis and butternut squash vindaloo. Even funnier, it was delicious.’ The Sun.

LiTTLe MaCHiNe - Poetry in the Pub

Poems classic and obscure, are given a new voice in song. South London band LiTTLe MACHiNe: Walter Wray, Steve Halliwell and Chris Hardy , using acoustic instruments, strong melodies and watertight harmonies – create songs that draw on a thousand years of poetry from medieval to modern. William Carlos Williams, Blake Shakespeare, Carol Ann Duffy…. All get the treatment.

We are thrilled to welcome Claire back to do our Jazz Masterclass Workshop. This is a chance for beginners as well

as those with experience to join her and experience the thrill of Jazz singing and vocalisation in the relaxed atmosphere of our village church.
